Drawing Program

Drawing is the honesty of the art. There is no possibility of cheating. It is either good or bad.  - Salvador Dali

Drawing is the foundation of everything we do at the Dojo and we encourage students, of all levels, to draw as often as possible. Each of the following classes consists of six, 3-hour sessions (one per week).

Cast Drawing

This course is will introduce students to the materials associated with charcoal drawing, as well as teach them a working method to produce sound drawings. This entails the concept of shape, value, and edge, as well as tools for measuring, such as sight size and comparative measurement. The students will copy plaster casts, using what they have learned to translate a 3-dimensional object into a 2-dimensional drawing.

In Session 3, we are offering a series of six cast drawing classes that will meet on Thursdays, 9:30 am to 12:30pm, starting July 12th, 2018. The class will be taught by Justin Balleza and the cost to register is $240.
